MGMA (Medical Group Management Association) is an organization dedicated to empowering healthcare practices and providers to create meaningful change in healthcare. MGMA provides educational resources, studies, certifications, and a network of healthcare industry experts and thought leaders to its members. 

Overview

In July 2020, the MGMA team made the difficult decision to convert its annual three-day Medical Practice Excellence Conference (MPEC) into a virtual experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The annual Medical Practice Excellence Conference hosts healthcare experts and thought leaders, addressing industry changes, technology, strategies, and financial management. Approximately 3,000 people attend this conference on average.

With only four months to plan and convert a large scale in-person conference to a digital experience, Brand Viva partnered with MGMA to produce an online conference that the association could be proud of. 

Objective

Develop promotional content and assist in production, converting a large-scale, in-person conference to a robust, online virtual experience.

Brand Viva partnered with MGMA’s team to bring the entire conference together. MGMA provided conference content, including keynote speaker footage, testimonials, presentation decks, and interactive content. Our team assembled all assets, editing and placing conference video content, sponsored advertisements, and MGMA promotional messaging according to the sequence of the conference.

Promotional Content

Brand Viva began the conference preparation by developing video content to promote Medical Practice Excellence Conference via social media. The purpose of this content was to create awareness and encourage people to attend a unique virtual experience. Promotional video content consisted of previous conference footage, motion graphics, and animation. 

 
 

Our team also produced a “Know Before the Show” video to inform attendees how to prepare for the new conference format and to prevent technical difficulties. 

 
 

The final set of promotional content focused on “Save the Date” messaging for MGMA’s 2021 Spring conference.

 
 

Conference Logistics

Our team was responsible for compiling conference assets and converting them to video sessions for attendees. This planning required weekly and bi-weekly meetings with MGMA to cover logistics such as timing, placement, and content requests. 

Overall, Brand Viva edited and ensured deadlines were met for all aspects of the conference, including keynote sessions, sponsored content, and concurrent sessions.

Speaker Panels & Coordination

Our team coordinated with some of the conference speakers to ensure optimal video-recording quality via Zoom. Brand Viva provided tips, coaching, and best practices for MGMA and its speakers to deliver high-quality recordings from home.    

Conference Video Production

Brand Viva edited footage and compiled all video sessions according to the conference schedule, creating consistency in flow and style. Session video content consisted of keynote speakers, sponsored ads, activity breaks, tutorials, and award videos.

Brand Viva developed the overall look and feel of the conference. Our team designed video bumpers/containers, recorded voiceovers, and provided timestamps for all general sessions. 


Attendee Wrap Up

MGMA reaped over 2,000 attendees for its first online conference. The MGMA team received positive feedback post-conference, resulting in its decision to release all conference sessions on-demand for a limited time. In addition to on-demand content, one of the concluding conference assets developed by Brand Viva included a recap video thanking all conference attendees and highlighting major statistics/success of the 2020 Medical Practice Excellence Conference.
